Are you going to be watching?
I am not sure if I will be. I enjoy watching speedskating, bobsledding and luge and some of the downhill skiing is fun to watch but I am not DVRing ot rearranging my schedule over it.
What is your interest level?

Looking forward to Olympic hockey, men's and women's. I like the downhill skiing and half-pipe stuff, too.
I'll record some on the DVR once I get it cleared from unwatched episodes of Ryan's Hope and the West Wing ... LOL.

DD, are you being sarcastic? LOL
I don't mind watching a tight curling match; lots of people say it's dull, but the suspense as the thingydoo creeps across the ice has the potential to keep me on the edge of my seat! LOL The human drama of it all -- you know, the thrill of victory and the agony of de broom and all that.
The thingydoo -- Is it called a "rock"?

we watch the opening ceremony. The half pipe is exciting. I am curious what new tricks Shuan White has up his sleeves http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...021001018.html
That kid is amazing

Olympic luger from Georgia dies after crash
A men’s Olympic luger from the country of Georgia died Friday after a high-speed crash on a track that is the world’s fastest and has raised safety concerns among competitors. IOC president Jacques Rogge said the death hours before the opening ceremony “clearly casts a shadow over these games.”
Nodar Kumaritashvili lost control of his sled during training, went over the track wall and struck an unpadded steel pole near the finish line at Whistler Sliding Center. Doctors were unable to revive the 21-year-old luger, who died at a hospital, the International Olympic Committee said.

------------------------------
The article also goes on to say that - Kumaritashvili struck the inside wall of the track on the final turn. His body immediately went airborne and cleared the ice-coated concrete wall along the left side of the sliding surface. His sled remained in the track, and it appeared his helmet visor skidded down the ice.
Others have crashed at this track where they are carrying speeds over 90mph. Some are saying that this track is unsafe or on the boarderline of being unsafe.

What ever happened to barrel jumping? I don't know if it was an Olympic event but I remember watching it on Wide World Of Sports as a kid.
I think I like the Down Hill the best, those people are nuts. I'll watch what ever I can especially if the US is competing.
I thought the opening show was fantastic. The visual effects were unbelievable. It's a shame there was some kind of glitch at the end.

That was the best show I have ever seen. Amazing talent and vision. The tap/violin performance was my favorite.

I've been able to watch a little here and there. Curling, 3 man speed skating, the short track skating with Apollo, 4 man bobsled and today I will be glued to the USA vs Canada hockey.
Go USA.

Missed the race, missed the end of the Olympics...bad TV day. But I did enjoy watching the games for the past two weeks. Ice skating/dancing was awesome. Downhill was cool, but scary to watch. Couldn't watch the luge or bobsled.
