T-MINUS 5 DAYS & COUNTING!
24 Season 8 Premiere Date!
June 11, 2009
24: Season 8
Episode 8.01
Airs: January 17, 2010
Episode Description
24 Season 8 Returns with Two-Hour Premiere Event Sunday, January 17, on FOX
Katee Sackhoff, Freddie Prinze Jr., Mykelti Williamson, John Boyd, Jennifer Westfeldt and Chris Diamantopoulos have joined the cast of 24 for the series’ eighth season. The Emmy Award-winning drama starring Kiefer Sutherland returns for its next astonishing day with a two-night, four-hour premiere beginning Sunday, Jan. 17 (9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Season Eight will unfold in New York City amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations. In this new day, CTU has been upgraded and is run by MBA-schooled and razor-sharp head honcho Brian Hastings (Williamson, “Forrest Gump”). Cole Ortiz (Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Jack Bauer’s (Sutherland) footsteps, runs the division’s Field Operations. Expert data analyst Dana Walsh (Sackhoff, “Battlestar Galactica”) collaborates with systems analyst Arlo Glass (Boyd, “The Notorious Bettie Page”) inside CTU. Rob Weiss (Diamantopoulos, “The Starter Wife”) serves as President Allison Taylor’s (Cherry Jones) new chief of staff, and Meredith Reed (Westfeldt, “Grey’s Anatomy”) is an ambitious journalist with ties to the unfolding situation.

There has been several rumours that Freddi Prinze may take over but also read that it may not be the end of JB.

I have set it to record... too much stuff to do to spend time in front of the TV.... Heck... I am STILL doing laundry. Football has used up way too much of my time this weekend.

Here we are, 4 hours into 24 and no one has any thoughts on the season so far?
I think it is off to a good start. Not sure what Dana's past has to do with anything and IMO it seems like a distraction so far in the story line.
Chloe has some very funny one liners in the show so far.
I am not sure I trust the male data analyst (the guy that controls the drones) at CTU so far. seems a little shady to me.
What have you picked up on so far? What do you like so far and hate thus far?

I've been really struggling through this season. It seems that the episodes are not as fluid as they once were and the feeling that this is all happening in "real time" is getting lost as well.
This show needs to pick it up and get more coheisive

perez is reporting that 24 is going to be made into a big screen movie
Quote:
It was bound to happen sooner or later.
24 is making it's way to the movies!
With Kiefer Sutherland completely on-board as star, exec producer, and contributor to the script, the flick is ready to head into some key preliminary stages. The movie will find the nation's favorite counter terrorist unit officer heading to Europe to deal with the bad guys.
The only thing that could be standing in the way of the show making the move to a feature franchise is the TV show itself. If a ninth season of the show comes through, than the movie will have to take a back seat.
The buzz around the movie has begun. Start your clocks, 24 fans!
Are U excited for the show to become a movie?

Just when I am really starting to get into it!!!! Arghhhhhhh!
Quote:
(PEOPLE.com) -- Kiefer Sutherland is having elective surgery to deal with a ruptured cyst near one of his kidneys, temporarily stopping production on his hit Fox show "24."
The medical problem is not considered serious, and the disruption to "24" is expected to be brief.
"We are temporarily suspending production of "24" while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure," the network said in a statement. "We hope to resume production shortly and do not anticipate any disruption in the broadcast of this season's episodes."
A rep for Sutherland said: "While Kiefer Sutherland is frustrated to miss even one day of work, he and FOX decided together that it would be best to complete this minor elective procedure now as a precaution as opposed to six weeks from now when production wraps. He looks forward to returning to work (this) week."

24 is done after this season. Fox has confirmed that it will not be back.
There are still some rumblings of a movie and possibility that NBC might pick it up.
IMO, this season is the worst of them all. I struggle to sit through each predictible episode. Each "shocking" event you can see coming before it happens.
Glad that this show will be wrapping up and concluding.
It was a revolutionary concept show that has run its course.

I haven't really been able to get into it like I thought I would. But, I thought it was me, I have trouble sitting through most shows on TV... too easily distracted.

4 hours to go before the end of 24 on TV. Of course there is a movie in the works but 24 is about to go away.
The last few episodes have really picked up the action and pace of the show. I thought that the first 16 hours the show really struggled to get its feet under itself.
We know that the show is not going to have a happy ending for Jack. I think that the last 4 are going to be strong and powerful.
Did you like this season? Or is it tough for you too?
