Looks like we are going to be getting rain this weekend. I kinda called this storm a few weeks ago in another weather thread and I was holding out hope that it would be snow but no such luck. I did say it was going to be a big storm. Looks like we are going to get a true soaker.
Is it going to be biblical rains? No. but there will be flooding.
clear out gutters that might still be clogged in the streets.

I was just thinking about this and I was earlier today discussing debris still laying in the roads from the winter storms - here - and this weekend's rains could make this debris a hazard. These tree limbs and branches getting caught up in rainwater run off could float back out into the road ways or clog sewer grates.
Be careful this weekend.

GL besides removing tree limbs and such yesterday I also cleared my sump pump pipe because I heard the rains are coming. Came home one day last week and heard a motor running it was the sump pump, however it was not able to push the water out. Fortunately, the water table did not exceed the floor level so we dodged a bullet, so I knew I had to check out the pipe. It was blocked but I cleared and made sure it could push the water out.

I just tarped my snowpile, otherwise it WOULD BE biblical flooding.

I don't mind. Now I won't feel compelled to do yard work.

I love the rain - more when it is 80 degrees out, but I love it either way. But this is one weekend that I would prefer it held out till Monday.
I am prepared for it, though.

We have a memorial to go to on Saturday. Cemetery in the morning, local VFW in the afternoon....Oh what fun that is going to be...I don't think I have a big enough umbrella to keep the tissue dry...

I can't embed videos here at work (grrr), but there's also "Kentucky Rain" by Elvis Presley, "Red Rain" by Peter Gabriel, "Who'll Stop the Rain" and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" by Credence Clearwater Revival, "The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin, "Flood" by Jars of Clay ...

I like that. Why can't it just rain between, say, midnight at 5 a.m. and leave the daytime nice and dry?

Who got around this weekend by canoe?
I was in Jersey on Saturday and everywhere I tried to go was flooded. I tried to get on 295 in several places and couldn't. When I finally got on and down to 130 and 322 to come over the Commadore Barry it was flooded down there too. I ended up coming over the Delaware Memorial Bridge and back up. An hour ride turned into a 2 hour 10 minute ride.
On the bright side, it looks like it is going to be a lovely week.

Wasn't too awful bad here... my old tires used to hydroplane at the least little puddle, but my new tires suck up the water and spits it out, leaving nothing but a wet spot on the pavement!!!! No more hydroplaning!!!
