Is Beck really trying to pass this off as a Ronald Reagan speech??
This was originally called operation coffee cup written and financed by the AMA. The author of those words was Dr. Morris Fishbein, the AMA's President. is also the one that came up with phrases like "peasant medicine", "medical Soviets and socialized medicine remember this was the height of the cold war so anything that sounded soviet or socialist was automatically bad.
Reagan just read the copy, remember back in the 1960s he was a working actor, that would basically read anything that was put in front of him if the money was right remember he was doing cigarette adds too http://whitehouse.georgewbush.org/ki...esterfield.asp
The AMA sent this record out to the "ladies' auxiliary" of the Medical Association in each county (unthinkable as it is now, medicine was so male and gender roles so different that each county had a "ladies' auxiliary" for doctors' wives.)
The "ladies" were instructed to "put on the coffeepot," play the record for their friends and fellow physicians' wives, and then get out the stationery so that each of them could write personalized letters to their Senators and Congressmen. There was no public announcement of the recording, or of "Operation Coffeecup." The idea was to make it seem as if the letters were spontaneously written by distressed citizens. Portions of the recording were also reportedly broadcast as radio commentary.

. By the way he was not talking about health care reform as we know it today Reagan was warning American about that commie plot today we call MEDICARE

Rush Limbaugh must be confused, he is against universal health care for everyone else but he thinks it’s great when uses it
Think Progress

Paul Abrams: Limbaugh Lauds (Socialist) Medical Care in Hawaii
According to Rush Limbaugh, the health care reform that may be passed by Congress is socialism. Yet, it bears a striking resemblance to the universal healthcare system that just treated him in Hawaii that prompted his remark: "there is nothing wrong with the American health care system. I received no special treatment."
Yes, Rush. That's the point! American medicine is superb--for those who can get it. And, in Hawaii, no one gets special treatment, because everyone can get it.
Hawaii has had nearly-universal employer-mandated health insurance since 1974. Although its Pacific Island location makes the costs of everything--from gasoline to milk to ice cream to housing--the highest in the nation, health care premiums in Hawaii, for comprehensive care with small co-pays and deductibles, are nearly the lowest and their costs per medicare beneficiary are the lowest in the nation.

Limbaugh unwittingly praises socialized medicine, again | Raw Story
During a recent broadcast, he vowed to "go to Costa Rica" if Obama is successful in passing his health reform legislation. Limbaugh is saying he will not leave the U.S., as in, move away. Instead, Limbaugh claims that he will simply "go to Costa Rica" for his medical care.
Interestingly enough, even as the Republican icon has made many a dollar damning proposals for public health care in the United States, his future hospital bed in Costa Rica will be watched over by the same "socialists" he's so known for deriding.
Costa Rica, you see, has socialized health care operated by a government insurance monopoly, which provides a remarkably high quality of service for a fraction of the costs routinely seen in the United States.

Did you read the article??? Rush appears to have survived his encounter with socialist medical care. He seems to be very happy himself, commenting on the results of a socialist angiogram that showed no disease in the arteries that feed his heart muscle.
Not only that but all Members of Congress that have a medical office paid for by taxpayers available in the Capitol, by Dick Cheney who had socialist pacemakers implanted paid for by the government, and George W who had a government-paid socialist colonoscopy while in office. Members of Congress over 65 get single-payer socialist medical care from Medicare.

Thanks Rush, and with it my hopes that your medical insurance covers all your costs and that the greatest country in the world can make that same care available to everyone.

Lou please place an ad in the paper and find someone who needs heath care to contact you and you pay for it. Great idea.
BTW I think that the folks in Washington have an insurance company underwriting their health care plan.
Again I repeat Rush paid out of pocket for his care. Get a grip.

Don’t need to put an add in the paper I already provide health care coverage for my employees but it’s getting tougher every year cost went up 19% last year at this rate I cant do it much longer.
The folks in Washington do have an insurance company underwriting their health care plan paid by the taxpayers. That’s exactly what the public option is proposing insurance for people that can’t get it on their own underwritten by insurance companies.

Rush did pay out of pocket for his care because he is not a resident of Hawaii had he being a resident he would gotten the same care would been covered by the Hawaiian insurance system.
The point of the story is that just like every country that has universal health care the health care premiums in Hawaii, for comprehensive quality care with small co-pays and deductibles are nearly the lowest and their costs per medicare beneficiary are the lowest in the nation
