    Aston's only real woods

The fire trails in Aston Mills, off Maple lane...the natural spring, the falls, the caves...enjoy the beauty of the last real woods in Aston....

these are of the natural spring behind the falls

These are the caves where we found many arrowheads over the years...but not since I was a kid
Look to the center right of the picture, the dark spot is the cave...

This is the cave, I zoomed in but its really dark

    Nice...

I especially love the little pudgy puppy pic... They are so cute when they still have their baby fat.

You did bring back some good memories,Kamma. It is really beautiful and I agree with Dale in hoping it stays the way it is meant to be.

Great pictures. Reminds me of the Cove in Mt Joy. We use to find arrow heads as well as powder horns. Use to ride our horses back along the dam and take them in swimming. Sad part is they closed it down because some people went in the one cave and a guy was trapped. They weren't able to save him. Seems the rocks were shale and kept shifting when they tried to free him.

Ahhhh, nothing like the woods in PA!

The woods in S. Florida are two wet and full of nastys to hang out in.

At the bottom of Aston Mills hill, where it meets Mount road. Maple is the small lane where Good Ales Beer distributor is. Go to the back of the lane where it dead ends and the woods start there. The falls are about a 1/4 mile walk back on the right, the spring is 1/4 mile walk beyond that.

Trust me on this one Mr H , you dont want to hang about in the woods in Pa too long either. We had a full grown black bear the other night roaming around.Made the news too.Its not unusual though.
Im not so bothered about the things i can see , its the things i cant see that "bug" me.

Oh Jake, I love the woods in PA. We go to Tioga and Potter counties all the time and I love the forests there. Love to explore, and see the wild life. Nothing like it...
