I can't speak for him, but my concern is that there are legitimate issues that need to be addressed, but too often partisan posers infiltrate movements. They cloak agendas in compassion for some oppressed segment of humanity and seize power with ulterior motives. On of the best ways to ferret out the weasels in a movement is to watch for consistancy, as Pachyderm has so aptly done.

Actually I would prefer that neither men or women or drones "served" in combat. I would prefer that the United States not be the world's bully, and that we would not spend more on war-making than almost all the other nations on the planet combined.

OK, so it would be safe to say that you are against women who desire to serve in combat?

Women who desire to serve in combat are contributing to the US being the "world's bully"?

Are you saying military women who desire to serve in combat are contributing to war making, because they are adding more participation from the female gender (and people) to combat?

Do I have your opinion about right? Yes or No?

I know this is an old thread I started some time ago, but this is a great time to bring this up again.

Actually, the war mongers are the ones that create conditions that require the troops to carry out the desires of the war mongers.

Most progressives have that feeling as well. Progressive socialist liberals by-and-large have that mentality as well. Craw under a rock and hope everyone treats everyone well, ignoring history.

    Pathetic at best.

    Bully my ass.

We didn't become America by hoping for our independence. The only bullying being done is by our administration.

I support gender equality. I am opposed to war. I would support women AND men being prohibited from fighting in wars. That was my point. Sorry if I'm not being clear.

I was wondering how the Brandywine Peace Community suggests Obama should handle Putin.

    Nothing!

Putin is not a Republican. So he gets a free pass.

Are they Alinskyites, one and all? I know that some peace movements are a mechanism by which to seize political power, and that is it.

Based on what I have observed over they years. This is my own personal observation, so you have to take it for what it's worth to you. This group appears from my point of view and perspective to have roots in Delaware County, Swarthmore, PA, Swarthmore College, and the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).

My frustration with this group is NOT their anti-war stance. Nobody appreciates war. My frustration is they often can't see the forest for the trees, and their energies are misguided.

I was wondering if the Brandywine Peace Community would come in this forum and tell us their ideas on handling ISIS.

The situation in Iraq deteriorated while Obama was giving peace a chance.

If you want an answer to your question you are welcome to show up at a Brandywine event and ask people what they think.

It's either that or meet with them at an Obama fundraiser.

Translation: I don't have the answer or the courage to tackle this question in this forum.
