After losing presidential bid, Michelle Bachmann becomes a Swiss citizen

How do you convince Americans that you are the best fit to represent them in the US Congress? There might be a lot of ways to answer that, but, whatever you do, don’t ask Michele Bachmann.
The three-term congresswoman from Minnesota and former GOP presidential contender has been campaigning as of late with hopes of being elected once again to the US House of Representatives. She managed to put local politics aside for a moment, though, and recently took time out of her busy schedule do something uncharacteristically un-American

    Stinking turncoat!!
    Rat flees sinking ship??
So I guess she'll now be a duel-citizen .... Which would make her unfit to serve.

Don't worry. When there was a backlash, she turned a 180 and renounced the Swiss citizenship this morning. It's what the radical right does best.

I'm jealous! I'd love to have a dual citizenship!
Sad that she thought she had to give that up in the name of politics.

Why do people have to be so knee-jerk about things?

They are politicians. Knee-jerk is their default position.

Small problem with that....she declined Swiss citizenship, she never had it to renounce. Try a news source not Russian TV.

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and her family, it was recently revealed, have been claiming Swiss citizenship through her husband's immigrant parents. Bachmann became a dual citizen automatically upon marrying her husband in 1978. It only became a story Tuesday due to what appears to have been re-registration as part of her children's claim to Swiss citizenship. After a two-day media frenzy, Bachmann announced Thursday that she was renouncing Swiss citizenship.

Interaction with you is futile. I am a slow learner, but now I've got it.

Oh, stop it, you people. Tree, you are not a slow learner!

I don't think tree minds people disagreeing with her/him. He/she is a good debater.

Whether you like debating or not, tree, you're good at it.

It takes a while to figure out who really wants a real discussion.

The people who don't bother reading links, even the ones that start a thread, and then just toy with others, continuing interaction is a waste of time.

The good side is that you also learn who is worthwhile to interact with. Like you, pretty. ;D

I very much enjoy interacting with you as well. Thank you!

Sometimes people just want a fight, for fun. I don't mind that if I feel like I understand where they're coming from (and their sense of humor), and it's pretty much all in fun.-->

Lately I've been feeling frustrated about not being able to change people's minds, though (like about the Elizabeth Warren thing)...and that's not good. Because chances are, that's never going to happen.
