The Mushroom Capital of the World teams up with Buona Foods and All Pro Eating to Sponsor its first ever National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship at this year’s 27th annual Mushroom Festival.

In the region where over sixty five percent of the United States mushrooms are grown, it has been officially announced that The Mushroom Festival in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania (http://www.mushroomfestival.org/) has teamed up with Presenting Sponsor Buona Foods (http://www.buonafoods.com/) to host The Mushroom Festival National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship. All Pro Eating (http://competitiveeaters.com/), the World’s most recognized and established Independent Competitive Eating organization will sanction the National Eating Championship and will oversee the event’s fried mushroom festivities. In addition to awarding $1,050.00 in prize money, the winner of The Mushroom Festival National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship Presented by Buona Foods will also establish the new All Pro Eating National Fried Mushroom Eating Record.

The Mushroom Festival is the most well known mushroom celebration in the world and hosts the 2 day event annually to promote and celebrate the importance of mushrooms. The annual event provides family fun at the carnival, entertainment and several contests and competitions. The Mushroom Festival National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship Presented by Buona Foods is both the first ever sanctioned Eating Championship at The Mushroom Festival and the first ever Fried Mushroom Eating Championship sanctioned by All Pro Eating. The winner of the event will create the new All Pro Eating National Fried Mushroom Eating Record which will remain intact until beaten.
All Pro Eating Promotions is expecting several Professional Competitive Eaters at the event including All Pro Eating’s #1 Ranked Professional Competitive Eater, Eric “Silo” Dahl. In addition to several other Championships and eating accomplishments, Dahl is the current World Hands-Free Pumpkin Pie Eating Champion and World Chicken Salad Sandwich Eating Champion. The Mushroom Festival National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship will also see plenty of Competitive Eating action from several ranked Competitive Eaters including “Gentleman” Joe Menchetti, David “Tiger Wings and Things” Brunelli, Jamie “Bear” McDonald and “The Mansfield Monster” Ernie Clifton in addition to a significant field of local and amateur Competitive Eaters.
