I'm getting hungry.
I guess I'll order a chicken cheese steak this weekend, with fried onions, and sweet peppers on a Italian roll.
Geno's and Pat's are across the intersection from one another in South Philly. Forgot I had these two photos
Let's not forget the soft pretzels http://www.phillysoftpretzelfactory.com/

Zoey the pretzels are only good cold in a brown bag and bought from what looks like a crackhead on a street corner. Cold and a little damp, but doughy. Like the corner of Cottman and I-95 off ramp.

And how early on Saturday morning can I swing by your house to borrow your gun (don't worry I won't get any smudges on it - (I'll wear gloves) and you'll load it for me too right? LOL!)

None! Too greasy, which makes the roll soggy and I hate that, and the cheese is not real food!
An Italian grinder is my preference, thank you.

WHAT'S THAT STUFF?

Process Cheese [Photo courtesy of Kraft Foods]When I was in first grade, I went through a cerebral cheese period. My cousin Michael got me started because he brought a jar of Cheez Whiz to school in his lunch box every day. Naturally, I was jealous, but I was also curious. What was pasteurized process cheese sauce?
He would spread it on crackers, his sandwich, or dip a celery stick into it.I used to daydream about bringing Cheez Whiz to school for lunch—but, alas, it never happened. Yet other questions later arose: What was cheese food? Cheese spread? Cheese product? Imitation cheese? How were they different from just plain old American cheese? Anyhow, I forgot about it.
With this past holiday season, however, I had a renewed interest in cheese. I began to dig up some cheese factoids. Cheese is perhaps the oldest processed food known to mankind and one of the most ubiquitous foodstuffs in the world. In 1910, the average American ate 5 lb of cheese per year, but that had grown to 28 lb per year by 1998. Process cheeses, around for more than 50 years, have had a great impact on this growth spurt. I witnessed plenty of big cheeses during the holidays who had a cheese ball in the fridge, set out slices of American cheese for sandwiches, or served melted Cheez Whiz or Velveeta mixed with salsa as queso dip for nachos during college football

Kutzro, your in my stomping grounds. Take Cottman to Frankford Ave (about 1-1/2 mile) Stay in the right lanes before the Frankford ave light turn right about 3 blocks noth on the left side of Frankford is the Pretzels Factory.
I think is still 25 pretzels for $5. Hot out of the oven. They also have hot dogs in a blanket.
No road dirt in a paper bag from the crack head on the corner.
Sorry for the slight hijack of this thread.

Just look at that stuff on the bread. Looks like a crap sandwich. Disgusting in my opinion. All that stuff is is yeast compounds. You want to put that stuff on a cheesesteak sandwich? ARE YOU NUTS?

Australians love vegemite. Can't understand why it did not take off in the USA.
Even tastier is Marmite:

Just take a look at that stuff. That might be the number one reason. It looks gross. SOS from the service at least looked good. That vegemite would never cross my lips.
